Mercedes Escobar

Guatemalan singer-songwriter Mercedes Escobar blends the grit of blues and country with the lyrical intensity of magical realism and the sonic traditions of her home culture, a sound she calls Latin Americana. Her raw, guttural vocals, often compared to Linda Ronstadt and Howlin' Wolf, command every stage she steps on. She has shared bills with Gaby Moreno, Rubén Albarrán (Café Tacvba), and Malacates Trébol Shop, and her songs appear in acclaimed films Temblores (2019) and Cadejo Blanco (2022). A Berklee College of Music graduate ('24), she is currently recording a bilingual album co-produced by Grammy-winning artist Gaby Moreno. More Info: Website | Instagram | Spotify
